WELCOME TO ST. JOSEPH'S CATHOLIC CHURCH - ORLANDO

PRAYER TO ST. JOSEPH:  O Saint Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of God, I place in thee all my interests and desires. O thou Saint Joseph, do assist me by thy powerful intercession, and obtain for me from thy divine Son all spiritual blessings, through Jesus Christ, Our Lord; so that, having engaged here below thy heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of fathers. O Saint Joseph, I never weary contemplating thee, and Jesus asleep in thy arms; I dare not approach while He reposes near thy heart. Press Him in my name and kiss His fine head for me, and ask Him to return the kiss when I draw my dying breath. Saint Joseph, Patron of departing souls, pray for me. Amen!

Our Mission Statement
The mission of the St. Joseph’s Religious Education Program is to teach Christian doctrine to the youth and adults of St. Joseph’s Parish in order to invite, lead, and enable them to enter into a living, intimate relationship and communion with the Person of Jesus Christ, Who alone “can lead (them) to the love of the Father in the Spirit and make (them) share in the life of the Holy Trinity.”¹

This mission involves faithfully handing on the Sacred Deposit of the Christian Faith by presenting the Divine Revelation of God the Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, as it is transmitted through sacred Scripture and Tradition, authentically interpreted by the Magisterium, and authoritatively taught by the Popes of His one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church.

This mission is accomplished primarily by means of a teaching apostolate that not only explains the meaning of the mysterious truths of Christianity using age-appropriate, weekly catechetical instruction in a classroom setting, but also prepares students to worthily receive the gift of God’s supernatural life (“grace”) in the Sacraments (viz., Penance, Eucharist, and Confirmation).

In union with Jesus Christ the Teacher and Mary the “mother and model of catechists”², and with unswerving fidelity to the Bishop of Rome, Pope Benedict XVI, this sublime mission is offered, with humble zeal and joyful obedience, for the glory of Almighty God and the salvation of our students, all of whom are called to attain the state of Christian perfection and become the saints of the third Christian millennium.
